IBM Information On Demand 2012 – Getting session schedules on your Calendar and your mobile device
IBM Information On Demand (IOD) starts Saturday, October 20 and runs to Thursday, October 25 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Here’s how to plan your sessions and get a schedule on your mobile device:
-Go the The IBM IOD Smart Site – http://www.iodsmartsite.com
-Choose Sessions and Activities and select the sessions to add to your agenda by clicking on the grey + to the left of the sessions
(TIP – Add more then one session per time slot if you can’t decide, that way you can be flexible with repeats/changes when they’re announced – I use this more as a short list than a final agenda)
-Next, select My agenda to see what kind of scheduling trouble you’re gong to be in for the week. Just above the calendar are three options – Print, Email and Download.
-Print gives you a paper copy to take with you and write on, which can be handy. Email sends you a shareable copy in a PDF attachment. Download is the option for sharing with a Mobile device:
-When you click download you see two options: Download to Calendar and email as an Attachment:
-Download to Calendar downloads an .ics file, email sends you an .ics attachment. ICS is the ICalendar (or ICal) format.
-Once you have the .ics file on your local machine, you can import it into your calendar online or on your desktop.
-You can also email it to yourself and import it to your calendar on your mobile device.
